Mike Martinez has been the heart and soul of country radio for over thirty-five years, building The Southern Star Country Club from a thirty minute slot to the three hour country music history class heard around the globe.  Not only does he play all of the songs that hit the Top40 of the Billboard country chart, he also features independent entertainers from the US, Texas, Canada, Australia and Great Britain.  There is no other show like it on the air.

His broadcasts are known for their warm storytelling, deep knowledge of country music history, and an uncanny ability to mix classic outlaw country with today's hottest artists — always keeping it real, always keeping it country.

When he's not behind the mic, Mike scours industry publications looking for new artist's to play.  He favors female entertainers since they are not treated as fairly by radio.  He also enjoys reading and absorbing as much about country music His-To-Ry as possible.  He is sometimes spotted at local venues discovering new artists, and championing the next generation of country songwriters.
